Wings for Life: The new challenge

If you’ve dropped in to the Infiniti Red Bull Racing website this year you may have noticed our Wings for Life Corporate Challenge gathering pace as the season has progressed. The 2014 event is entering the final straight but while that’s going on, we’ve opened the books for 2015 and are taking entries now.

Running concurrently with the F1 season, the challenge will see company teams go head-to-head in a fundraising competition, battling to increase awareness of spinal cord injury research, while fundraising for the Wings for Life charity.

Our side of the deal will be a series of exclusive Infiniti Red Bull Racing rewards at various fundrainsing milestones. We'll be announcing those a little later. For this year's challenge, the prizes on offer have included a dinner and Q&A with Christian Horner, tickets to the British Grand Prix and the loan of a static showcar to be displayed at a location of the team's choosing. We've had seven teams battling it out in 2014, taking part in all manner of high-tempo fundraising activities. The ultimate winner, shortly to be announced , will win a money-can't-buy, behind-the-scenes tour of the factory and a nothing-can-buy session in our simulator, plus a race suit worn and signed by one of our drivers.

For 2015's event, the entry list closes on January 24th. We welcome entries from companies large and small, university societies and organisations. The 10-month challenge requires five core members of a team to organise charitable campaigns to aid the Wings for Life Foundation. The foundation will provide a dedicated account manager to offer support and guidance.

"Wings for Life is a fantastic charity and it's doing great work to find a cure for spinal cord injury, that alone should motivate people," says Christian. "Creating an environment where your team can flourish is also key – at Infiniti Red Bull Racing we trust and invest in our people and this is evident across the whole team."
